Cory and Kim Hodgson
Cory, Kimberly, and Naomi Hodgson left for their first term
in Tanzania in February 2006. Prior to their departure, Cory worked full time at Grace Bible College and was Resident Director in the men's dorm. Kim worked full time as a mom and part time as a nanny for two little boys. Cory and Kim met while they were students at Grace Bible College and were married during the summer after their junior year. Naomi was born on August 1, 2004.
Cory grew up in Grand Rapids and has a family history in missions. His grandparents, Wayne and Phyllis Schoonover, have served in the Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia. Cory spent a summer with Steve and Barb Sherman (Barb is his cousin) in Tanzania when he was 16 and decided to devote his life to missions and to serving the Lord. Kim grew up in Port Orchard, Washington, and has thought about being a missionary since she was a young girl.
During the summer of 2002, Cory and Kim spent four weeks in Tanzania working in the secondary schools and assisting Susan Vinton with her children's ministry. Kim has a passion for education and children and volunteered frequently in elementary schools when she was younger. Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. Cory graduated from GBC in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in Missions.
Cory and Kim are currently serving as full-time missionaries in Mbeya, Tanzania, where they are involved in preaching, teaching, evangelism, and women's and children's ministries.
