Desiring to become a missionary, Steve graduated from Grace Bible College in 1989 with a five-year degree in missions. To enhance his leadership training abilities, he then received a Master of Theological Education Degree in 1993.
Barb, the daughter of Bill and Mary Bunch, grew up on the mission field of Zaire. Wanting to prepare herself to be a missionary, she attended Grace Bible College for one year before spending four more years at Grand Valley State University obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.
Steve and Barb have been blessed with two wonderful children: Trevor (born in 1993) and Stefanie (born in 1996).
In 1994, Steve and Barb followed God's calling in their lives to Tanzania. They have been ministering there ever since with a focus on strengthening the Grace Churches of Tanzania.
The Lord has led Steve and Barb to be involved in leadership training and to be involved at Tanzania Grace Bible Institute (TGBI). Barb teaches at TGBI and is also involved in homeschooling her children. She serves as advisor to TGBI's Tanzanian school nurse. Steve works regularly with the Tanzanian leadership in personal discipleship and is teaching classes on "stewardship" in the churches using the book he recently wrote.
The goal of TGBI is to train pastors and other leaders for the Grace Churches of Tanzania. It offers a three-year course in Bible, Theology, and Ministry for both the husbands and wives.
