Kennedy and Sofia Simtowe

Kennedy and Sofia Simtowe

Kennedy Simtowe was born of Christian parents

in Tanzania. His father, Pearson Simtowe, was the head pastor of the grace churches in Tanzania for many years but was killed while riding his bicycle in Sumbawanga, Tanzania, in January 2010. Kennedy grew up at the Tatanda mission station with Dan Moyer. After high school he attended Bible College in Kenya graduating in 1988. Upon his return to Tanzania he worked with the youth in Tatanda as well as serving as administrator of the hospital. In 1995 the Lord led him to reach into the country of Zambia and he was responsible, with Pastor Jack Siame, for getting the Grace Church in Zambia formed and registered with the government. He was joined by Dan and Tina Moyer in 1997 and together they started Zambia Grace Bible Institute as the training center for our churches. Kennedy has a great burden for being an evangelist and he heads up "Harvest Time Mission," which is involved in expanding our ministries into the neighboring countries.

Sofia Simtowe is also a Tanzanian but she received her training to become a nurse-midwife in Zambia. After her education she returned to Tanzania where she worked as a midwife and also married Kennedy. They have four children: Stella, Frank, Ben, and Cecilia. Sofia taught in the Bible Institute before the Simtowes moved to Malawi in January 2005. Sofia and Kennedy are presently involved in the training of leaders and starting of churches in the country of Malawi.
