Good News from Tanzania - Kim Rabenold writes: "This past week we had the first Women's Seminar in the Rukwa Valley. Forty women came together to learn what God says about women in their role in the church and in their families. We had two days of intense teaching, fun, singing, praying together, and doing beading projects. It was so much fun. When the meetings ended, the women begged for another seminar as soon as possible. Another highlight of life here in the Rukwa Valley...Sierra [Rabenold], Danae and Erin Benton started a girls' club on Wednesday afternoons! The Tanzanian girls are excited to have a group where they get together to learn about God's Word and also learn to do crafts that will possibly give them career opportunities. Our girls are excited about having an opportunity to share their faith in Jesus Christ with their friends!" Please pray for Kim and Terese Benton and their daughters as they live and serve the Lord in this remote part of Tanzania.

Uruguay Update - PTL for His blessing on the ministries in Uruguay. Three of our church leaders will be finishing their third year of Bible college training in December. We are thankful that we can help them with the tuition. One of the students, Beatriz, and her husband, Israel, are working in "La Teja," a needy neighborhood in the city of Montevideo, to reach children through the AWANA program. They started with 22 children but are expecting that number to increase in the weeks to come. A number of the children's parents are getting interested and have started to help in the AWANA club. Certain women cook food and make handcrafts. At a special kids' day celebration program, eleven children accepted the Lord Jesus as Savior. Please pray for this new ministry in La Teja.

Awana Club in Puerto Rico - PTL for a great start for the kids' club ALAS (AWANA in Spanish) in John and Kerry Coxes' house in Puerto Rico. Over fifty people attended, including teachers and helpers.

News from Joseph Asong - PTL for the good progress Joseph Asong is making in his studies at Central Africa Theological College in Zambia. Joseph is the son of the late Lawrence Asong who began the work in Cameroon. GMI is sponsoring Joseph's education at the college where he is completing his second year of studies. During his school breaks he ministers in our various ministries in Zambia and Malawi. Joseph was recently elected the chairman of the Students' Representative Council at the theological college. Joseph is asking for prayer -- prayer for wisdom, grace, courage, and a compassionate heart.

Trumbower Update - Lawrence and Barbara thank those who prayed for them when they had the joy of recently visiting their grandson, daughter, and son-in-law. They gained a greater appreciation for their work in Central Asia and were struck by some significant differences between the way they have to relate to people and the freedom we have here. Barbara gave a message to a small church group on the subject of "child discipline" and Lawrence led a discussion for David's eight English club members.

Pray for Congo Elections - On October 29, the second round of presidential elections took place. This election was between the two candidates who received the most votes in round one. Results will not be forthcoming until the middle of November. Please pray for peace and a good beginning with the new president and other elected officials.

In August, Fred Vinton started studying the Life of Christ with a group of Muslim men to whom he had previously taught the Old Testament. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict these men that Christ is truly the Son of God who is the only way of salvation.

Pray also for the medical work at Kipaka. At the beginning of October, the walls and half of the metal roofing were done on the malnutrition center at the hospital. The next day they had a rain and windstorm like they had never seen before. The wind picked up the roof and slammed it down onto the ground taking two of the walls with it. The malnutrition center was to have opened a week later but now they're back to rebuilding. Pray that the building will be finished with no further setbacks.

Bible Conference in India - PTL for a good conference October 19-22. Bill and Mary Bunch and Wayne and Phyllis Schoonover were the main speakers and teachers at the conference.

Outreach in Malawi - Please pray for Kennedy Simtowe as he continues to train the leaders who are working with believers in the 32 preaching points that have been started in Malawi. Kennedy spent the last ten days of October working in Southern Malawi with a focus on starting new preaching points through evangelistic outreach. Please pray for spiritual growth in the men Kennedy is training. Pray also for the two Malawians who are students at Zambia Grace Bible Institute.
