Updates from Bolivia - PTL for the annual meeting of the Grace churches during which Pastor Guillermo Choquebarra was chosen as the new president. Please pray for him as he leads the churches. PTL for the women’s conference in the Altiplano. DeAnna Olson and Mary Sue Reed attended and took part in the conference. Dan and Mary Sue are excited to see their sons, Taylor (drums) and Trevor (electric guitar), involved with the youth in the music program at the Cochabamba church. PTL for the quick recovery that Trevor made when he had an emergency appendectomy.
Kindu Bible College - Bill Vinton and Pastor Nondo spent two weeks in Kindu in November teaching at Kindu Bible College. Bill also had the task of reading and approving or rejecting the theses of the fifth year students who will be graduating next year. Please continue to pray for this ministry that is training leaders for our churches in Congo.
Used and Useable Musical Instruments - Trying to figure out what to do with that clarinet or flute that your child doesn't play anymore? Several of our fields and missionaries have requested musical instruments which can be played by their children or national church praise groups. If you'd be interested in donating an instrument to be used on the mission field, please contact GMI via our web site at www.gracem.org or call the home office at 616-241-5666. Thanks.
News from Tanzania - Ted Rabenold thanks all who prayed for the "eye team" of seven people from their home church in the States who were flown by MAF into Kapenta. During their time in the Rukwa Valley they saw over 450 people. PTL for committed professionals who are willing to help people who live where there is little medical care. PTL for the opportunity of sharing the love of Christ with so many people. Pray that hearts and "eyes" would be open to the message of salvation shared at the clinics.
Sharing the Gospel in Zambia - Please pray for our missionaries and especially Carl Moyer as he preaches the Word at the English-speaking service. Pray that the special Christmas services will bring people under the hearing of the Gospel and cause some to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for a business man who started attending and then came to Carl to ask for a Bible.
Molinas to Mozambique - The GMI Board has accepted Joel and Darcy Molina as missionaries to Mozambique. The Molinas have served the Lord in Indonesia, Philippines, and Brazil under Things to Come Mission. GMI has been planning to enter Mozambique (and later the country of Angola), but we have lacked personnel who spoke Portuguese. The Molinas will be working with Kennedy and Sofia Simtowe in Malawi which will be their base to enter Mozambique. Please pray for the opening of this new field.
Cameroon Trip - Don Ten Hoeve and Pastor Mark Matychuk (Bethesda Church - Prior Lake, MN) left for Cameroon on November 24 and are scheduled to return on December 5. While in Cameroon they will be taking part in the annual Bible conference of the Grace churches in that country as well as meeting with the church leadership. Please continue to pray for the ministries in Cameroon and the need for a missionary to serve there.
Africa Safari - On December 31, Pastor Rob Renberg (Parkside Bible Church, Holland, MI) and Sam Vinton, Jr. will be leaving for two weeks of ministries in the Congo after which Pastor Rob will return to the States and Dr. Sam will go to Zambia and Malawi. In Malawi, Dr. Sam will meet for a 3-4 day retreat and planning meeting with GMI's Africa field directors -- Dan Moyer (Zambia), Steve Sherman (Tanzania), and Bill Vinton (Congo). Pray as preparations are being made for this trip.
