Moyers on Home Assignment - Dan and Tina Moyer and their three children will be arriving in the States from Zambia and starting their home assignment in June. They will be visiting with friends and churches in Pennsylvania and Ohio, meeting with the GMI board, and attending the Grace Gospel Fellowship Family Conference in early July before traveling to Seattle where they will be based until the end of the year when they plan to return to Zambia, the Lord willing. Please pray for them.
The Effectiveness of Radio - Barbara Trumbower (Puerto Rico) writes of an older listener of WCGB who now lives in California who has been calling for years and who especially appreciates when one of the staff prays with him over the phone. According to Harry, "WCGB is the only station I call." Pray for him. Pray also for an urgent technical need that the micro-wave signal in the mountains will be up and running soon.
Work Permit for Meiers - Last month we asked you to pray that the work permit for Tim and Debbe Meier would be issued and that they would be able to move into their new home in Mufulira (Zambia). PTL that He has answered both prayers.
Update from Australia - Andy Hollier reports that on May 21 at the home meeting in St. Ives, they showed the Radio Bible Class DVD on the DaVinci Code -- "Separating Fact from Fiction" -- followed by a discussion. Since the movie has been released in Australia it is being openly talked about giving them opportunities in the areas of evangelism and education. Pray that many will be brought to faith in Christ throughout the world because of the open doors to share the Gospel with those who have questions.
News from Tanzania - Praise the Lord that Pastor Craig Apel (Berean Church of Muskegon) taught at the pastor's conference for a week along with Chad Zuber and several of our church leaders. Mike and Terese Benton (Tanzania) are praising the Lord and thanking all who have given towards the building of their new home. They are settled in and even have electricity and running water. The kids from the village have been showing up each afternoon to play with the Benton children. Pray for open doors into the homes of these children where the Gospel of the Lord Jesus can be shared. Brook Seekins asks for prayer for this summer's camps which start on June 19 and continue for the following three weeks. This is the first year when all the counselors are Tanzanians so there will be a lot of new bridges to cross.
Meeting in South Africa - Kennedy Simtowe (Malawi) spent two weeks in South Africa during May preaching in a number of churches, as well as attending an "All Africa Grace Fellowship" meeting. The focus of the AAGF was ways to reach all of Africa with the gospel of grace through Harvest Time Missions using locally trained missionaries. Please pray that the men and women being trained will be ready to serve the Lord in the many difficult places on the African continent where there are still many unreached peoples.
Urgent Need in Kipaka - Fred Vinton is in urgent need at the Kipaka Hospital (Congo) of a builder and a hospital administrator. The hospital needs more room as services expand and people come from many miles away to receive treatment. Please pray for these needs. If you have questions, call the GMI office (616-241-5666) or email us at gmi@gracem.org.
Trevor Sherman - As we go to press Steve and Barb Sherman are in Dar es Salaam at the hospital getting medical treatment for their son, Trevor, who has been ill for the past ten days. The Shermans live in Mumba where there are no medical facilities, so the family had to travel for two long days to take Trevor to the capital city where he has been diagnosed with an abdominal abscess. We are trusting that by the time you read this Trevor will be recuperating, but this is also a reminder to keep our MKs in prayer.
New Church in Tanzania - Ted Rabenold writes from the Rukwa Valley in Tanzania that another 15 people came to a saving knowledge of Christ in the village of Kawila. The May "Grace Ministries Around the World" reported that 11 men and women believed on the Lord Jesus as Savior in that same village. Others have also responded to the Gospel. Ted writes: "It is amazing because last month there was no church in Kawila and today there are 48 new believers there! A young man (new believer) from the Kawila church named Obadi will be studying at our Bible school in the valley so he can be the future leader of the church."
Malawi Update - Praise the Lord for the purchase of property on Lake Malawi with self-contained cottages. With minor development it will be used for a Bible training center for up to 30 students. Our first class of 12 men went through a week of intensive leadership training there in April.
