Great News from Malawi - PTL for good news from Kennedy Simtowe. Last month he led a team for two weeks in southern Malawi where they conducted open air meetings in a number of villages. Over 2000 people attended the various open air meetings and close to 600 people made professions of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. All the new converts of each village were brought together and grace church leaders from the area were appointed to teach each new group. During the mornings Kennedy conducted seminars for the area church leaders and afterwards he took them out to witness in the villages. PTL for the power of the Gospel and Kennedy’s evangelistic zeal.

God at Work in Tanzania - Ted Rabenold writes: "Last weekend a woman and two men came for medical care. The woman had been bitten by someone in the village. She was very bitter about it and vowed to never forgive the one who bit her. During the treatment time Eliam, who works with us here, shared the Gospel with her. He told her about her sinfulness and that God sent His Son who gave Himself as a sacrifice to forgive her sins if she trusted in Him. He also explained to her how dangerous it is to keep on hating someone. PTL that during the discussion she and her two companions asked Christ to forgive them! Eliam and two other men who work with him led them in the reading of Scripture and prayed with them in my office. The woman then told Eliam that there were many in her village who need to know about Jesus. The following weekend our team visited her village and showed the 'Jesus Film' and preached the Gospel. PTL that 17 more came to receive Christ and God’s forgiveness of their sins."
Brook Seekins also shares: "The last camp of the summer was a great week. Six girls trusted the Lord Jesus as Savior the first day of camp as they were being taught how to share the Gospel. They realized that they themselves were depending on their parents' faith or church attendance for their salvation. Several more campers came to the same conclusion later in the week. God is good."
Pray for Puerto Rican Youth - John Cox praises the Lord for visible spiritual growth in the older teens and the opportunity to serve the Lord in a place where spiritual battles are intense. He asks for special prayer for the many young people and their parents who are caught in the trap of street life, false traditions and deception.
Bethesda Church Team to Bolivia - A team of ten from Bethesda Church (Minneapolis) spent twelve days in Bolivia last month conducting sessions in the schools and AWANA clubs; handing out tracts and doing street evangelism; helping in the construction of a church; and ministering in seven churches. They gave out wordless bracelets to all grade school students and New Testaments to all the high schoolers. We are thankful to the Lord for all the teams that visited our various fields of ministry. Please pray for the second team this summer from the Berean Bible Church of Spokane, WA that will be going to Costa Rica August 17-27, the Lord willing. Don Ten Hoeve, GMI director of field operations, will be joining the team in Costa Rica.
Congolese in Australia - Andy Hollier and Pastor Ross Graham (Kingswood Grace Bible Church) had the opportunity on July 16 to visit a family of seven who came to Australia from Tanzania as refugees. They were members of one of our Grace churches in Congo from where they fled to Tanzania as refugees. While in Tanzania, Elongo Theophile pastored a group in the refugee camp and also attended several seminars at Tanzania Grace Bible Institute. Pastor Graham and the church will see if there is any way they can help with getting the family moved closer to Kingswood so they can attend the church. Pray for the Elongo family and many refugees like them who are being resettled in various countries around the world.
Reconstruction in Congo - PTL for funds received to help in the reroofing project of the Kama buildings whose roofs were blown off by a strong storm that hit the station several months ago. We are also thankful for a grant received to rebuild the library/office/classroom building of Kindu Bible College that was bombed six years ago during the Congo civil war.
Comings and Goings - PTL for the wonderful time of fellowship with the Lord and His Word as well as with fellow believers at the Grace Gospel Fellowship Family Bible Conference in Anaheim, CA during the first week of July. GMI was well represented with home office staff and Mike and Terese Benton and Fred and Karen Vinton. Pray for Ricki Anne Zanella as she leaves for Uruguay in mid-August and Chad and Becca Zuber and their children as they return to Tanzania the end of August, the Lord willing.
